The Warehouse Systems Manager will oversee and optimize multiple warehouse and logistics technology systems across the company. This position is the strategic leader for warehouse technology initiatives, managing the implementation, evaluation, and optimization of our Warehouse Management System (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Labor Management Systems. The manager will act as the primary technical authority for system-related decisions and will lead a team that includes a non-exempt WMS Administrator. The role works closely with the Supply Chain Management Division, Logistics HQ, the IT Department, and Branch offices to ensure optimal system configurations, technology evaluations, vendor management, and seamless integration across all warehouse and logistics platforms.
Essential Job Functions
Systems Management & Optimization: You'll lead the strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing management of our warehouse and logistics technology, including Warehouse Management System (WMS), Transportation Management System (TMS), and Labor Management systems. You'll ensure optimal performance, resolve technical issues, and establish key performance metrics (KPIs).
Team & Vendor Leadership: You'll supervise the WMS Administrator, managing their professional development. You'll also serve as the primary technical expert for the Logistics Focused Solutions (LFS) WMS and manage relationships with all technology vendors, from sourcing and contract negotiation to ongoing performance reviews.
Implementation & Integration: You'll oversee all system-related projects, from evaluating and implementing new platforms like a TMS to ensuring seamless integration with existing systems (ERP, etc.). You'll manage project plans, timelines, and budgets while ensuring data integrity and security.
Analytics & Training: You'll use data to drive decisions, providing analytical reports and dashboards to track performance and support executive planning. You'll also lead training and change management initiatives to ensure staff can effectively use the technology.
Compliance & Security: You'll maintain system security protocols and ensure all platforms comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Experience/ Training/ Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a relevant field. Master's degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
7 years of experience developing, implementing, and managing a warehouse management system and related logistics technologies.
5 years of Supply chain management, warehousing, and distribution experience
3 years of experience in project management of large cross-functional implementations
2 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in technology or operations roles
Proven experience with system evaluation, vendor selection, and technology sourcing processes
Implementation, upgrade, and support experience with multiple WMS platforms and related logistics systems
Experience using formal systems development methodologies and project management practices
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is preferred.
Certifications in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or vendor-specific WMS certifications are preferred. Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is strongly preferred
Certifications in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or vendor-specific WMS certifications are preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project management certification is preferred
Vendor-specific certifications (LFS, IBM AS/400, SAP EWM, Oracle, Manhattan Associates, or any other relevant WMS system certification, etc.) are highly desirable
ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent IT service management training is a plus

Technical Systems Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including LFS, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Labor Management Systems. Proficient in warehouse automation tools like barcode scanners, RF devices, and RFID technology. Experienced in ERP system integration, particularly with Oracle, and skilled in SQL queries and data analytics.
Leadership and Management Skills: Proven leader with expertise in managing technical staff and cross-functional teams. Strong project management skills for leading complex technology implementations. Experienced in vendor management, contract negotiation, and influencing senior stakeholders.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on data analysis using tools like Power BI and Tableau. Adept at synthesizing complex information to provide actionable recommendations and evaluate technology solutions.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and presentation skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Effective at collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities.
Business and Operational Acumen: In-depth understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain management. Possesses a strong focus on continuous improvement and financial acumen to manage budgets and evaluate ROI.
Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Highly adaptable and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Willing to travel, work varied schedules, and be on-call for emergencies. Fluent in English.
Working Conditions
Works in offices close to those of top management with regular interaction with senior leadership and executive teams. Generally works forty hours per week; however, extended hours during system implementations, upgrades, and busy operational periods are expected. When schedules change and critical system issues arise, working under pressure is unavoidable, but deadlines and operational goals must still be met. Due to system maintenance, vendor support coordination, and emergency response requirements, may be required to be on-call on an irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays. Position requires occasional travel to branch offices, vendor locations, and industry conferences as needed for system implementations, training, and professional development. The role involves managing multiple complex technology systems simultaneously, requiring strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to shift priorities based on business needs and system criticality. Regular interaction with external vendors, consultants, and technology partners is expected, requiring professional communication and relationship management skills.
