Key Position Responsibilities

Apply maintenance using SMP/E.

Code and troubleshoot issues with JCL.

Define network connections for printers, Iseries, and mainframe devices.

Respond to issues with mainframe committed printers.

Define resources to the transactional system known as CICS.

Assist users with problem determination for CICS-related issues.

Define and maintain JES2 resources.

Perform maintenance and coordinate the centralized faxing system, Rightfax.

Prepare and participate in yearly Disaster Recovery procedures.

Manipulate various software products, including those from CA and IBM, as well as OEM products.

Specific Accomplishments Encouraged in First 6-18 Months

Gain full knowledge of all current systems, including mainframe, Iseries, and Rightfax.

Take on the main role for all Computer Associate software products.

Essential Functions Required

Perform installations, maintenance, and issue resolution for each of Broadcom AKA Computer Associates software offerings.

Code and read Assembler or COBOL programs

Skills/Attributes Required/Sought

Profound understanding of z/OS, Unix Systems Services, and Iseries.

In-depth SMP/E knowledge.

Knowledge of TCP/IP for z/OS related network configuration practices.

Ability to develop and adjust ISPF Panels.

Profound understanding of ACF2 Security administration practices.

Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and execution for both Mainframe and I-Series.

Advanced Job Control Language (JCL) skills.

Knowledge of transactional systems (CICS) internals.

JES2 Administration experience.

Ability to compose and maintain documentation for various Operating System environments.
