Job Description

Database Administration & Optimization:

Manage, monitor, and optimize production and development databases (Oracle, Exadata) to ensure high availability, scalability, and peak performance.

Automation & Scripting:

Design and implement automation solutions for database maintenance, monitoring, incident resolution, and reporting using scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.

Performance Tuning:

Analyse and optimize database performance through query tuning, index management, and fine-tuning of database configurations to enhance operational efficiency.

Backup, Recovery & DR Strategy:

Develop, test, and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

Incident & Problem Management:

Lead root cause analysis for complex database issues in 24x7 high-traffic environments and implement proactive measures to prevent recurrence.

Capacity Planning & Scalability:

Perform database capacity planning, storage optimization, and resource utilization analysis to support business growth.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:

Partner with application and infrastructure teams to design efficient data models and share best practices through documentation and training initiatives.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

Stay updated with emerging database technologies, tools, and automation frameworks to drive continuous improvements in performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

10 + years of Hands-on experience with database monitoring tools and automation.

Expert-level expertise in Oracle Exadata administration, including performance tuning, storage optimization, and security.

Strong proficiency in Database Server, with experience in high availability solutions (Always On, clustering, replication, etc.).

Deep understanding of SQL, Database, indexing strategies, query optimization, and transaction management.

Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on reliability, resilience, and scalability.

Experience designing and implementing backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with a proactive and solution-driven mindset.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams.
