As a Senior Lead QA Engineer, you will be a part of a team responsible for manual regression testing of payroll applications, supporting legally regulated, heavy calculation systems used by millions of clients. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, accuracy, and quality prior to every release.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Here's what you can expect on a typical day:
Own Manual regression testing for payroll and statutory calculation workflows across individual payroll applications.
Execute detailed test cases focused on complex payroll calculations, tax rules, and compliance scenarios.
Validate system behavior during release cycles (every ~ 3 weeks), testing code during the release process rather than debugging source code.
Work within a mainframe-based environment using ADP internal tools (no cloud platforms, no external tooling)
Document defects clearly and collaborate with developers, product partners, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate fixes.
Lead testing efforts for your assigned features, including test planning, execution, and release readiness.
Mentor and guide junior QA team members, particularly in payroll logic, test design, and analytical problem-solving.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: (REQUIREMENTS)
You'll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent.
7+ years of experience in functional/manual QA with significant exposure to payroll systems
Strong experience validating statutory and payroll calculations.
Highly analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex, rules-based math problems.
Experience working in Agile environments and supporting structured release cycles.
Familiarity with mainframe environments
Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools (Ex: JIRA)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience using SQL to validate backend data, calculations, and test results in QA or testing environments
NICE TO HAVE:
Experience with ChangeMan or other mainframe source control tools
Programming languages for system understanding not development.
Exposure to test automation (for limited use)
Chat GPT / CoPilot or other GenAI exposure
