COBOL Developer – Power / Utilities
Role Purpose
This role provides domain-aware interpretation of legacy COBOL systems.
The accelerator can detect patterns —
but utilities (electric power) logic must be understood, validated, and contextualized.
This person ensures:
👉 Extracted rules reflect real business logic
👉 Use cases align to operational reality
👉 Modernization targets are viable
Core Responsibilities
Legacy Logic Interpretation
Analyze COBOL modules tied to:
Call center workflows
Customer servicing
Billing / service logic
Field operations
Business Rule Validation
Confirm AI-extracted logic matches real-world operations
Support ambiguity resolution
Utilities Domain Mapping
Translate technical logic into functional meaning
Align system behavior to customer journey use cases
Accelerator Collaboration
Partner with:
AI ingestion team
Agentic development team
Use-case mapping team
Deliverables
Validated business rule interpretations
SME-aligned logic clarifications
Legacy workflow mapping
Required Skills
COBOL expertise
Utilities industry systems exposure (Electric Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution)
Ability to translate technical logic into business context
Experience with customer servicing or billing systems preferred
Nice to Have
MACSS experience and understanding (client’s CIS System)
