We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr. Associate Director

In This Role, You Will

Provide extensive experience in designing and developing of significant applications with considerable experience in leadership.

Continuously contribute to code and review other's code for best practice, ensuring compliance with all relevant controls and standards including relevant Service Management Standard.

Write and own standards, define product change strategies and to reach identified visions. Provide Subject Matter Expertise in an area such as: Devops, security, accessibility, agile, production governance etc.

Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high-quality code and data

Create and contribute to solutions designs and make judgement calls about adoption of tech debt.

Own delivery of a product (from requirement to production).

Provide value during production incidents even for things that they have not necessarily been involved in coding and Chair retros across different teams.

Break down a program of work into manageable deliveries and step into the Production Support Management (PSM) role.

Build trusted relationships with the business and maintain a good appreciation of the business domain they work in.

Communicate clearly, acting as liaison between engineering teams and senior management, translating technical details into business strategies.

Develop business cases benefits of addressing technical debt / platform improvement. Promote continuous improvement for self and team.

Remove impediments to team's productivity and direct collaboration with Product Owners without the involvement of intermediary roles such as architects, technical leads, business analysts, scrum master and project managers.

The Specialist Engineering job will be engineering expertise in specialist technology engineering areas which may include but is not limited to data engineering, security engineering, front-end engineering, user experience engineering. Includes Infrastructure domain specialists such as Storage, Network, Mainframe, etc.

The job will lead the support for platforms specific to a business area that requires specialist technology engineering expertise; and /or a product or service within a technology engineering specialism. Design and engineer software with the customer or user experience as a key objective for internal and external users focusing on the interface and front-end usability of the application.

The role may drive the provision of latest AI and ML technologies to support the Data Science & Analytics chapters, develop data technology solutions as part of data lifecycle management, deploy and scale analytic products and solutions safely for the business to build insights and data assets aligned to business outcomes and strategic data models.

The job requires a high level of proficiency in working in an agile way with a high empathy for continuous delivery and DevSecOps – must be able to do small, low-risk, high cadence change. Typically, will release to production daily or even multiple times per day.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

Solid experience on Design, Engineering and delivering software products

Proven hands-on experience on Modern Languages Java, SQL, Python etc. IBMi/AS400 Technologies (Programming Languages RPGLE, CLLE, SQL), Data Base IBMi DB2, Cloud DB technologies. Ability to analyze and refactor monolithic codebases.

Good Understanding of legacy batch & interactive processing, data structures, file handling, and message queues on IBMi/AS/400 environments.

Proven experience in application modernization — extracting business logic from legacy systems (RPGLE, CLP, SQLRPGLE) and translating it into REST-based microservices, event-driven patterns, or cloud-native architectures.

Expert Domain and Technical Knowledge of HSBC Core Banking systems and its interfaces. Exposure to large Corebanking upgrades, modernization programmes is preferred.

Hands one Knowledge of API, Events & Microservices, designing & developing responsive UI components

Knowledge of design concepts and design patterns

Familiar with security practices for development

Good troubleshooting skills

Sound verbal and written communication to interact with global teams. Good Interpersonal skills

Good to have knowledge of tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, JIRA, Confluence

Knowledge of cloud environments.

Experience as Lead in a large-scale engineering environment

Strong Leadership

Mentoring Senior Engineers

You have experience in fostering a strong engineering culture in an agile and DevOps environment.

Track record of identifying and implementing opportunities to enable engineers to develop more productively and with high quality.

Experience collaborating effectively across multiple engineering centers in multiple territories across time zones.
