What you’ll do:
Manage day‑to‑day maintenance, enhancements, and operations of Natural/ADABAS systems supporting multiple departments
Develop new Natural programs and modify or maintain existing code
Perform database updates, data structure changes, and related documentation maintenance
Execute and monitor batch jobs, including JCL scripting
Create and run ad‑hoc reports and queries
Investigate and resolve application defects
Provide production support and assist with operational issues
Perform controlled code changes following established processes
Conduct basic debugging and troubleshooting under senior guidance
Participate in requirements discussions with business and technical teams
Perform business analysis to understand user needs and system impacts
Support data import/export activities and system interface operations
Perform data validation and ad‑hoc data analysis tasks
Contribute to technical documentation, program specifications, and runbooks
Learn and follow platform standards, coding practices, and operational procedures
What you’ll need to succeed:
2–4 years of experience developing or supporting applications using Natural and ADABAS, or strong experience in a similar procedural language with willingness to learn quickly
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related IT discipline or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of Natural programming concepts (subprograms, maps, data areas)
Basic understanding of ADABAS files and data access methods
Familiarity with batch processing concepts
Exposure to JCL and/or SCL for executing batch jobs
Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical documentation
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Clear written and verbal communication skills
SALARY RANGE: $82,000 - $92,000
The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
Performance-based bonuses
Company-paid training and/or certifications
Referral bonuses
