Quality Assurance Analyst (QA Tester) – Medicaid Systems
Location: Remote
Duration: 12+ Months
Employment Type: Contract (C2C / W2)
Experience Required: 7+ Years
Project Scope:
This role supports the Medicaid system for the state of South Carolina by performing Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance (UA) testing on software changes related to Medicaid data systems.
The position is open due to ongoing and upcoming projects including system enhancements and upgrades such as DASH, translator upgrades, and UC4 automation processes.
The project focuses on implementing federally and state-mandated updates to the Medicaid system.
⚠️ Important:
This is strictly a QA Testing role. It is not a Developer, Business Analyst, or Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project teams to test coding changes
Develop test scenarios and detailed test cases
Execute tests and analyze results
Identify discrepancies between actual vs expected outcomes
Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support
Document business, process, and technical requirements
Work closely with internal teams and contracted staff including Clemson support teams
Provide clear written and verbal communication during testing cycles
Required Skills & Experience:
4+ years experience creating test scenarios and test cases
4+ years experience with COBOL and JCL
4+ years running mainframe batch jobs and troubleshooting job errors
4+ years experience with Serena ChangeMan
Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong experience with mainframe environments
Skilled in QA testing for legacy systems
Comfortable working with COBOL/JCL batch processing
Experience supporting government or healthcare systems is beneficial
