Job Description

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a QA Lead within the QA Team at Davy.  This is an ideal role for a Senior QA professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can deliver work to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with the ability to take full ownership of projects and can champion quality throughout the full software development lifecycle.

In the role, the successful candidate will: 

  • Deeply understand the business domain, customer needs, and regulatory context of financial services

  • Act as the main QA point of contact for business and technical stakeholders

  • Shape, own, and continuously improve the overall testing

  • Recommend process improvements and refinement of QA practices across teams

  • Ensure quality is embedded early in the delivery process

  • Balance hands on testing with leadership and strategic responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support other QA team members

  • Analyse and clarify requirements, specifications, and technical documentation

  • Assess risks, prioritise testing accordingly, and proactively communicate issues

  • Track quality issues, provide clear reporting, and drive resolution

  • Define and monitor quality metrics

About you  

We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills: 

  • 10+ years of experience in software testing

  • 5+ years in leading projects and resources

  • Proven experience managing mainframe projects

  • Experience shaping and implementing testing strategies

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps environments

  • Experience with standard testing and defect-tracking tools and QA processes

  • Experience working in Waterfall and Agile teams

  • Bachelor's degree or comparable knowledge and experience.

    • Teamwork

    • Leadership skills

  • Experience in Stocking or financial services (preferred)

  • ISTQB certification (preferred)
