Oracle Database Administrator

Job Summary:
The Oracle Database Administrator for Infrastructure team will perform Oracle database Administration for the Customer facing and corporate applications. He/she will provide strong operational support to the internal applications as well as Infrastructure teams. The candidate will participate in the On-Call rotation, troubleshoot problems and take appropriate corrective actions. He/she will keep the managers/team leaders informed of the progress and issues and collaborate with team members and application partners. A strong background in Oracle Database administration and security, ability to work independently and with teams in a fast-paced environment is a must.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
Initiate, plans, coordinates Oracle Database system upgrades on Linux, Unix and Windows environments
Manages and supports the core systems that include administrative tasks such as monitoring databases as well as application performance, disk and memory usage, log, and database and application assignments; identifies and documents potential issues, prepares necessary corrective and preventative action plans
Design, maintain, and document Oracle Database configurations/layouts
Build and support new lpars (logical partitions) using Power VM virtualization
Responsible for annual upgrades and patching on additional related core databases including but not limited to application servers
Troubleshooting Oracle database issues within agreed SLA. Provide data and reporting of KPI’s and trends in ad-hoc, weekly, monthly and as sought.
Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including written policies and protocols that guide to database administration staffing and vendors.
Installation, configuration and remediation of various security software on the Database environments
Configuration and Administration of Oracle RAC, ASM, stand-alone instances
Disk and File Management
Responsible for monitoring and alerting on all the Oracle databases
Log Management
Database Lifecycle management (LCM)
Run & maintain hardening scripts
Perform disaster recovery, backup and restore activities
Work under minimal super vision & take ownership of Oracle incidents end to end
Assists application and database teams with data purges, data archival, backups and restorations.
Periodic system performance, capacity & resource management
Review & own technical documentation ensure compliance and accuracy in all documents
Proven problem solving and analytical skills

Proficient in monitoring tools – Oracle OEM, SolarWinds & Nagios a plus
Education and Experience:
10+ years of experience in operations and project management of Oracle database administration
Bachelor's in related technology/business areas
Skills and Behaviors:
Advanced knowledge of Oracle Databases version 12 and 19c and their configuration and protocols, terms and concepts.
Expert level experience in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN and OEM.
Excellent understanding of OCI and Exadata.
Excellent understanding of SAN storage technologies.
Experience with writing shell scripts in ksh or any other scripting language.
Ability to adapt to established standards and practices.
Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously
Exposure to Rubrik enterprise backup solutions
Ability to manage several projects concurrently, assess priorities, and allocate resources.

Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres or DB2 is a strong plus.
Exposure to SAP Hana, AWS Redshift or MongoDB is strongly preferred.
Oracle Cloud/ amazon AWS hands on & experience in transitioning infrastructure into various global cloud hosting providers a plus.
