Mainframe IT Operator I

Coordinates, monitors, administers, and services technical environments. Completes implementations, carries out integration activities, and provides operational support for technical environments. Perform basic/routine tasks with narrow scope.

Responsibilities

• Document problems and resolutions in organized technical detail including problem, cause, and solution

• Execute service requests from service catalog - Minor impact

• Operate and maintain high speed online printers for large scale computer operations

• Perform test, configuration, environment and preventive maintenance activities

• Identify, create, update and adhere to applicable standards and procedures

• Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, escalate and/or resolve technical problems

• Monitor, troubleshoot and analyze systems/applications

• Present clear, organized and concise information to all audiences through a variety of media to enable effective business decisions

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to document and apply policies, standards and procedures

• Exposure to validating system availability and performance

• Familiarity with enterprise systems, terminal knowledge and IT terminology

• Familiarity with technical inter-relationships between software/hardware and desktop/LAN/Host systems

• Familiarity with MVS and JES2 commands

• Basic skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions

• Basic skill in producing desired results and achieving goals and objectives

• Basic skill supporting a global 24/7, member/customer focused services operation

• Basic verbal and written communication skills

Hours:

6PM - 6AM overnight shift schedule (Holidays and weekends required)
Week 1 Work: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Week 2 Work: Wednesday and Thursday
