Job Description
CTG is hiring a Mainframe Developer with strong COBOL and CICS experience to support a healthcare claims processing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on development experience in MMIS/Medicaid systems who can translate business requirements into scalable mainframe solutions.
Location: Sacramento, CA
Duration: 12 months
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM
Support healthcare claims processing systems (CA-MMIS preferred)
Analyze business requirements and build technical solutions
Perform unit, integration, and regression testing
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance
Required Skills:
2–5 years of mainframe development experience
Strong COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM expertise
Healthcare claims processing experience (highly preferred)
Experience with batch and online systems
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $95,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
