We are currently seeking a Mainframe Developer (FTE/Onsite/USC/GC) to join our team in Irving, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).
Day to Day job Duties:
Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, IMS, MQ Series, and other mainframe technologies as required.
Implement and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate development, testing, and deployment processes for mainframe applications.
Provide Production Support for mainframe applications, including monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
The developer will also utilize middleware technologies such as IBM Integration Bus (IIB), Red Hat Fuse, Apache Kafka, or IBM MQ for integration, monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.
Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts
Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
Skills required:
Overall 5+ years of experience.
3+ Experience in In-depth knowledge of mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, IMS, MQ Series, Endevor, and FTP.
2+ Experience in Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Application Resiliency, and Security principles, and Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies applied to mainframe environments with mainframe batch scheduling tools like CA7 or OPC/TWS
Experience in Java, JSON, Micro services
Proven experience with middleware technologies such as IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), Apache Kafka, or similar is also necessary.
Experience required in debug tools like Expeditor
Experience with File Aid, Stored Procedures, Endeavor, CA-7, NDM, MFTS, s-FTP,NDM XML, CLIST, REXX is a plus
Experience in shell scripting in UNIX/LINUX is a plus.
Experience in working as part of a scrum team with knowledge of related ceremonies
Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
Strong communication skills.
