Job Description

As a Consultant within the Capacity Management Team in Technology Operations, you will coordinate and lead capacity-related initiatives, supporting the integration of CIBC’s products and services with emerging technologies. You will analyze, document, and recommend solutions to ensure seamless operational support for application and infrastructure releases. This role emphasizes proactive risk identification, process improvement, and the coordination of capacity management activities across multiple platforms and service providers. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, delivering insights and ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.

How you’ll succeed

  • Capacity Management: Coordinate and monitor capacity management activities across platforms (servers, Mainframe, NonStop, iSeries, network). Analyze capacity data, identify trends, and escalate potential issues. Support enterprise initiatives, ensuring effective resource planning and operational readiness.

  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, evaluate, and present capacity reports. Research and analyze information, recommend solutions, and ensure reporting aligns with business requirements and quality standards.

  • Risk & Compliance: Identify and address performance issues, support risk awareness, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Participate in capacity assessments (ACA/ICA) for new and enhanced applications and infrastructure.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate meetings, collaborate with Technology, Infrastructure, and Innovation teams, and support stakeholder engagement. Communicate changes and improvements effectively to technical and management audiences.

  • Client Engagement: Work collaboratively within the Capacity Management team, guiding stakeholders and service providers through all phases of the application and infrastructure lifecycle, from planning through to production release

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 2-4 years of experience in IT Service Management (ITSM), including Change, Incident, and Problem Management, with exposure to Cloud and Network environments. Experience leading or supporting capacity-related initiatives, including monitoring, reporting, and analysis across multiple platforms. Experience in capacity assessments for application and infrastructure release planning in domains such as Windows, UNIX, Network, or Mainframe operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and ServiceNow.
