COBOL / SQL Developer F/M
Job Description
Within our Information Systems Department (approximately 150 employees), we are recruiting a "COBOL / SQL Developer Designer (F/M)" to support our growth challenges. Your position is based in Neuilly sur Seine (92).
The mission consists of participating, as a developer designer, in the operational maintenance of a personal insurance contract management application developed specifically for the Client’s needs.
Operational maintenance includes incident handling, taking into account small evolutions and data warehouse requests, as well as monitoring production operations.
The role requires mastery of the technologies used in the Back-End layer (COBOL / ORACLE).
Your tasks will include :
Performing technical analysis respecting specifications and architectures, considering the impact on existing systems with attention to urbanization, security, operability, and scalability
Developing an optimized data model in accordance with best practices and applicable standards
Possibly prototyping
Developing software components following current standards, with a focus on robustness, maintainability, and quality of embedded documentation
Performing unit tests and ensuring no regression
Identifying and handling any non-conformities
Deploying software components in the testing environment
Receiving and qualifying non-conformities detected during testing, then monitoring corrections and verifying their relevance
Deploying software components in the deployment environment according to procedures
Analyzing and performing preventive, corrective, adaptive, and evolutionary maintenance of existing software components, aiming to identify all impacts
Handling production incidents and documenting action plans to facilitate future treatments.
THE PROFILE
You have 3 to 5 years of experience as a developer and designer in rich, complex application environments, along with professional experience in the insurance sector.
You have excellent command of SQL, data manipulation in an ORACLE database (both querying and updating), and query optimization.
You also master MICROFOCUS COBOL development language and its extension Pro*COBOL (an ORACLE feature that allows embedding SQL queries directly within COBOL).
You have good knowledge of Shell scripting under LINUX, as well as experience with a source control solution (ideally Gitlab).
